This is a pillar page for the 2026 indie roguelite release calendar, maintained by Tyrian Games. We keep it up to date because the calendar changes constantly, and a single reliable list is worth more than scattered Discord gossip. Dates below are sourced from Steam store pages, official developer socials, and publisher announcements. When a window is given in place of a date, that's because the developer hasn't committed to a specific day.

HAWKER, our own grimdark shopkeeper roguelite, is on this list too. Early Access September 2026.

TL;DR

  • 2026 is a dense year for indie roguelites, with Moonlighter 2's full release, Slay the Spire 2's full release, HAWKER's launch, and major expansions for Hades II, Cult of the Lamb, and Dead Cells.
  • Hades II's full 1.0 shipped 25 September 2025. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launch landed on 14 April 2026.
  • Moonlighter 2 Early Access launched November 2025 with the first major update in March 2026. Full release scheduled for 2026.
  • HAWKER launches in Early Access in September 2026.
  • This page updates monthly. Dates and windows reflect what was publicly confirmed at the time of writing in April 2026.

Already shipped in 2026

Hades II console launch (Supergiant Games, 14 April 2026). PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with Play Anywhere cross-progression on Windows. Hades II took the 2025 best-reviewed-game position on Metacritic and OpenCritic at console release.

Moonlighter 2 first major Early Access update (Digital Sun, March 2026). New combat path, new game mode, new weapons. The update confirmed Digital Sun's pacing toward a 2026 full release.

Moonlighter 2 Switch 2 version announcement (March 2026 Nintendo Indie World Showcase). Release window confirmed for 2026, exact date TBA.

Multiple Steam Next Fest demos (February 2026 and expected June 2026). Several small-team roguelite demos converted into release-window announcements across Q1 and Q2 2026.

Q2 2026 (April to June)

Slay the Spire 2 ongoing Early Access (Mega Crit). Early Access launched in late 2025. Mega Crit's communication suggests significant Q2 content updates as they work toward a full release.

Path of Exile 2 continued Early Access (Grinding Gear Games). Ongoing updates through the first half of 2026, with expansion pacing similar to the original Path of Exile's mature phase.

Cult of the Lamb expansion content (Massive Monster). Continued follower and ritual depth, with Q2 updates expected.

Q3 2026 (July to September)

HAWKER (Tyrian Games, September 2026). Our game. Grimdark shopkeeper roguelite. Thirty-day debt to Ankou, mobile caravan, Ink-driven narrative, combat that inverts at night. Wishlist on Steam.

Moonlighter 2 full release window (Digital Sun, 2026). Full 1.0 scheduled for 2026. No specific month confirmed, though the March 2026 update cadence suggests back-half of the year.

Slay the Spire 2 full release target (Mega Crit, 2026). Mega Crit is targeting full release within the year, with the specific month to be announced based on Early Access feedback.

Wanderburg (Randwerk, 2026). Revealed at PC Gaming Show 2025. The German worker-cooperative studio is targeting a 2026 Steam launch.

Dungeon Clawler full release (Stray Fawn Studio, 2026). Claw-machine roguelite. Early Access has built a community large enough to support a full release launch across Q3.

Several folk-horror indie roguelites (multiple studios, Q3 to Q4 2026). Flagged at Steam Next Fests through late 2025 and early 2026. Specific titles will firm up as release windows approach.

Q4 2026 (October to December)

Hades II ongoing post-launch content (Supergiant Games). Supergiant typically adds content post-launch. Hades II's content pipeline is active and specifics will clarify through the year.

Vampire Survivors expansion (poncle, late 2026 target). Continued content cadence from poncle, with expansion windows firming up mid-year.

Dead Cells continued updates (Evil Empire). Evil Empire's work on Dead Cells is ongoing, and new content drops are expected throughout the year.

Tiny Rogues 1.0 (rubend3r, 2026). Bullet-heaven roguelite. Early Access has been stable since 2023 with strong community engagement.

Possible Silksong (Team Cherry, TBD). The long-promised Hollow Knight sequel. A 2026 release window is plausible but remains unconfirmed. Treat as rumour-tier until Team Cherry says otherwise.

2026 window, no firm quarter

A handful of games have 2026 release windows with no month or quarter confirmed.

Inscryption spiritual successor from Daniel Mullins Games. Mullins has been quiet publicly, which historically precedes a reveal. Rumoured 2026 but nothing officially confirmed.

Loop Hero 2 from Four Quarters. Has been discussed in developer interviews, with a 2026 or 2027 window.

Blasphemous 3 from The Game Kitchen. Not confirmed at the time of writing, but the studio's trajectory suggests ongoing work. Possible 2026 window.

Unannounced FromSoftware-adjacent indie Soulslikes. At least three studios with Soulslike pedigree have projects in development with 2026 to 2027 windows.

Possible Dredge 2. Rumoured but unconfirmed. Black Salt Games has been quiet since the Dredge expansions shipped.

What's missing

Two large projects that developers haven't committed publicly include an unannounced Supergiant project (they're working on something, and it isn't Hades III) and a reported but unconfirmed Dredge 2. We'll update this list as news lands.

Our criteria

For inclusion on this list, a title must meet at least one of four tests. Official Steam store page with a release date or window. Developer announcement with a specific year or quarter. Publisher-confirmed release plan on their investor or press site. Or demo availability at Steam Next Fest with a release window flagged. Rumours, leaks, and Discord-mode guesses are noted but flagged separately so readers can treat them accordingly.

Calendar sources

We draw dates from Steam store release-date fields, checked monthly. Developer Twitter and Bluesky posts, checked weekly. Publisher press releases. Major games-press preview lists from IGN, PC Gamer, Eurogamer, and Rock Paper Shotgun. Nintendo Direct, Xbox, and PlayStation showcases for console-specific confirmations. Steam Next Fest demo pages, which often carry release windows that don't appear on the main store page.

How this page is updated

We update this page on the first Monday of each month. When a game ships, it moves to the "Already shipped" section at the top with a "(released)" marker. When a date slips, we note the original date as context. When a date firms up from a window to a specific day, we make the update and note the firming.

A first-hand Hawker example

One of the reasons we built this list in the first place is that we had to build an internal version of it for ourselves during Hawker's pre-production. We were trying to figure out when to launch Early Access. If we launched in early 2026, we'd be shipping into the Hades II console launch window, which could have pulled attention. If we launched in Q2, we'd compete with the expected Slay the Spire 2 full release. If we launched in Q3, we'd be in a more open window with fewer direct competitors.

We picked September 2026 partly because it sits between Moonlighter 2's likely full release and the Q4 holiday-release crush. The 2025 data we have shows that the roguelite audience's attention can hold multiple concurrent releases when they're tonally distinct. Hades II console fans have plenty to do, Moonlighter 2 players are in the middle of their full release, and Hawker can occupy the grimdark-shopkeeper slot without pulling directly against either.

This calendar isn't just a listicle. It's how we plan. Writing it out publicly serves two purposes: readers get a reliable reference, and we get pressure to keep it accurate. If a release slips and we don't update this page within a month, that's a problem for our credibility. The list exists partly as an accountability device for the team that runs it. That's a small thing but it's how we try to keep this page honest.

How to use this calendar if you're a player

A short practical guide. Wishlist anything on this list that looks interesting, then wait for the first major update to each game after launch. Most roguelites see their biggest balance passes within two months of launch, and reviews written after the first major patch are more reliable than day-one reviews. If the launch window is crowded, prioritise games from studios you've enjoyed previously, because indie studios tend to have consistent design voices across titles. And keep an eye on Steam Next Fest demos through the year, because the list's rumour-tier entries often firm up into concrete release dates immediately after the fest they demo in.

How to use this calendar if you're a developer

If you're an indie developer shipping into 2026's lineup, the pattern visible across the calendar is that tonally distinct releases coexist well. Cozy and grimdark can share a month. Card-roguelites and action-roguelites can share a month. The clash happens when two games in the same tonal and mechanical lane ship the same week. Watching this calendar across the year is useful because you can see which weeks are quiet and which are crowded, and plan accordingly. We picked September partly on this analysis.

Spoiler wall

Everything above keeps Hawker at the level of release scheduling. The September 2026 Early Access window, the thirty-day clock, and the caravan are all shown openly in our trailers and Steam page. No post-demo material appears on this list.

Closing

2026 is the densest year on record for indie roguelite releases. If even half of the dates above hold, it's a vintage year for the genre. HAWKER launches in September. If you liked what you read, wishlist it. It helps us ship.
